Ombudsman received the Ambassador of Egypt

The Defender of Human Rights of RA Larisa Alaverdyan received the Ambassador of Egypt in Armenia Ms. Abla Abdel Rahman at the request of the Ambassador.

The major subject of the meeting was the invitation received by RA Ombudsman from the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt to participate in the international conference dedicated to the human right to life in post-war conditions and relevant obligations of the state.

L. Alaverdyan informed the Ambassador that she is happy to accept the invitation and is honored to see under the invitation the signature of such a famous and respected public figure as Butros Butros Ghali, former UN General Secretary and the head of the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt at present. 

At the request of the guest Ombudsman introduced the activities and the last developments in the field of human rights in Armenia.

Ms. Rahman said that she keeps up with the work of Armenian Ombudsman and observes the achievements of the institution. The participation of the Human Rights Defender in the abovementioned conference will let the Armenian side get familiar with the experience of Egypt collected in that sphere and to establish necessary relations between National Council for Human Rights in Egypt and RA Institution of Human Rights Defender aiming at the development of future collaboration.
