On her own initiative, the Human Rights Defender immediately initiated a procedure for discussion of the matter in connection with the video concerning Mr. Gagik Khachatryan, following the dissemination of the video.
On the instruction of the Human Rights Defender, a visit to the penitentiary institution is currently being carried out in order to hold a private interview with the person and examine the circumstances related to ensuring his rights.
In order to clarify the main circumstances related to the matter, clarifications are being requested from the competent authorities.
Following a comprehensive summary of the results of the visit, the clarifications received and the examination of all relevant circumstances, it will be possible to present the position of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
