Shirak regional Department of the Human Rights Defender's
Office hosted 3rd-year students of the social work specialty of the Faculty of
Social Sciences of Shirak State University.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the
activities of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
Ms. Lusine Nahapetyan, Head of the Shirak regional
department of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, presented the history of the
Office, the Defender's functions, and the procedure for applying to the
Defender.
The meeting was held in a Q&A format: the students
raised a number of issues of practical significance to them.
Meetings with students from educational institutions and
representatives of non-governmental organizations at the Human Rights
Defender’s Office, including in the regional departments, are ongoing.
