On
June 18, the fifth session of the Commission of Commissioners for Children's
Rights of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place, within the
framework of which Sara Tsughunyan, a member of the Public Council for the
Protection of Children's Rights adjunct to the Human Rights Defender of the
Republic Armenia, presented a report on "Ensuring the Right of the Child
to Live in a Family and Organizing Alternative Care for the Child".
The
session was attended by Commission members from Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as a representative of the CIS
Executive Committee.
Among
other things, the members of the Commission discussed issues related to the
implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including ensuring
equal access to education for vulnerable groups at all levels of education, and
the provisions of the Convention on Civil Aspects to International Child
Abduction.
