message of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit
Manasyan, on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Armenia
Dear
compatriots,
I
congratulate all of us on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic
of Armenia.
The
Constitution is the cornerstone of a legal and democratic state and society. It
not only defines the legal foundations of the state, but also recognizes the
human being as the highest value, enshrining their inalienable rights and
freedoms.
On
the way to strengthening a state governed by the rule of law, the proper
guarantee of fundamental rights and freedoms by the state, as well as the
continuous improvement of the implementation of the related constitutional
structures, are of key importance.
In
this context, the active and responsible participation of each of us in the
preservation and development of the values enshrined in the Constitution is
important.
I am
confident that our joint and consistent work towards strengthening respect for
human rights and constitutional culture will contribute to the development of a
society that is united, tolerant, and built on the principles of justice and
the rule of law.
Once
again, I congratulate all of us on this symbolic occasion, wishing peace and the
establishment of a legal state based on the rule of human rights.
