Anahit
Manasyan, who is currently on a working visit to the Republic of Malta,
participated in the General assembly of the Association of Mediterranean
Ombudsmen (AOM) on October 16. During the assembly, Ms. Manasyan was nominated
by fellow ombudsmen and elected by the General assembly as a member of the
Association's Governing Board.
The
Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen was established in 2008. The activities
of the association are aimed at ensuring and protecting the principles of
democracy and the rule of law, as well as raising citizens' awareness of their
rights.
The
Republic of Armenia has been a full member of the Association of Mediterranean
Ombudsmen since 2010.
We
would like to inform that, before the General assembly, Anahit Manasyan held a
brief conversation with the Prime Minister of Malta, Robert Abela, within the
framework of a high-level conference organized by the Ombudsman Institute of
the Republic of Malta.
