The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, is on a working visit to Strasbourg. On November 6, within the framework of the visit, the Defender met with the President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Mr. Mattias Guyomar.
The meeting was also attended by ECHR Judge Mr. Vahé Grigoryan and Deputy Registrar of the Court Mr. Abel Campos.
Issues related to cooperation between the Human Rights Defender and the ECHR, the implementation of ECHR judgments, the main human rights challenges at the national level, as well as ways to enhance the effectiveness of human rights protection were discussed.
The parties also exchanged views on contemporary challenges related to human rights and the institutions engaged in the protection of rights.
The interlocutors reaffirmed their commitment to continuing cooperation, with the aim of activating dialogue and strengthening human rights protection mechanisms.
