The
review process regarding Stepan Samvelyan's right to health care is ongoing at
the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Republic of Armenia.
Within
the framework, information was received that Mr. Stepan Samvelyan was
transferred last nights from the “Hospital for Convicts” Penitentiary
Institution under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia to
"Heratsi" Hospital Complex № 1 due to a deteriorating in his health
condition.
In
order to obtain information about the dynamics of Mr. Stepan Samvelyan's health
condition, on the instruction of the Human Rights Defender, the representative
of the Human Rights Defender’s contacted the representative of the
"Heratsi" Hospital Complex № 1 to discuss the scope of medical
assistance required.
According
to the information received, Mr. Stepan Samvelyan needed narrowly specialized
(nephrological) supervision.
As a
result of the discussions, in cooperation with the competent state bodies, with
the consistent efforts of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, Mr. Stepan
Samvelyan was transferred to a multidisciplinary medical center.
