On
September 28, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit
Manasyan, participated in the 5th anniversary annual international festival
“Tshakhruk”.
The
event with the slogan “Physical possibilities are worth nothing without a
soaring soul”, founded by musician sisters Ms. Anna and Ms. Anahit Mkhitaryan,
took place this year at the premises of the “Kharberd Specialized Children’s
home” SNCO.
The
festival brought together groups and individual performers with special needs
from Kazakhstan, Syria, as well as from Armenia’s specialized orphanages, care
centers, special educational complexes, and other institutions.
In
her speech, Ms. Anahit Manasyan emphasized the importance of holding the event
in such a format: “It is important to never give up, to be kind, unifying and
supportive. This celebration of the “Tshakhruk” family is another opportunity
to unite and prove to the whole world that everyone has characteristics, and
thanks to these characteristics, all of our possibilities become limitless. It
is vital that we love and accept each other, taking into account each person’s
individuality,” noted Anahit Manasyan.
The
Defender also highlighted the importance of state support in fostering the
creative potential of persons with disabilities and also assured that within
her capacity, she will always stand by the big family of “Tshakhruk” and all
people with disabilities.
