The
Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan is participating in the high-level
conference on "Upholding Good Governance in Challenging Times: The Role of
the Ombudsman" in the Republic of Malta on October 15-16. The conference
is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Ombudsman
Institution of Malta.
Ms.
Anahit Manasyan is invited to speak at the first panel discussion on the topic
"Human Rights Defenders as Pillars of Democracy in Times of Change."
During
this important platform the responses of Ombudspersons from different countries
to global challenges, as well as an exchange of experience in protecting human
rights, strengthening democracy, and promoting effective governance will be
presented.
The
Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan will also present Armenia's
experience: innovative approaches and priorities in implementing the mandate of
the Human Rights Defender, especially in times of change and polarization.
