On
December 10, International Human Rights Day, the Syunik sub-division of the
Human Rights Defender's Office hosted students from Geghanush Secondary School.
The
visit was of a cognitive nature, the goal was to get acquainted with the
activities of the Human Rights Defender's Office.
Ms.
Ani Mnatsakanyan, Head of the Syunik sub-division of the Human Rights
Defender's Office, presented to the students the history of the Office, the
Defender's functions, and the procedure for applying to the Defender.
The
meeting was held in a Q&A format, during which the students raised a number
of issues.
Meetings
with students from educational institutions and representatives of
non-governmental organizations at the Human Rights Defender’s Office, including
in the regional sub-division, are ongoing.
