On January 20, the Human
Rights Defender’s Office hosted students from the V. Arakelyan Secondary School
of Aramus, Kotayk Province.
Ms. Lilit Aghajanyan, Head of
the Department for the Implementation of Convention Mandates of the Human
Rights Defender’s Office, welcoming the children, presented the mission, scope
of authority, main directions and priorities of the Human Rights Defender’s
Office.
A number of issues related to
the protection of children’s rights were discussed, including the prevention of
violence against children, the realization of the right to education, the
protection of the child’s personal data, as well as proper awareness of the
right.
The meeting was held in a
Q&A format, providing the students with an opportunity to voice their
concerns.
Cognitive meetings with
students of educational institutions are ongoing in the Human Rights Defender’s
Office.
