On 16 February, within the
framework of a working visit to Kotayk Province, the Human Rights Defender of
the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, visited the “Day Care Center of
Hrazdan” of the “Mission Armenia” NGO as well as the Children’s Day Care and
Development Center of the “Children’s Support Foundation”.
The visit is being carried
out jointly with Member of the National Assembly Ms. Lilit Stepanyan and with
the participation of representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
The Defender toured the
institutions, got acquainted with the services, development and care programs
provided to the beneficiaries - the elderly and children, as well as examined
the living conditions of the institution, including the working conditions of
the staff.
Ms. Anahit Manasyan also held
private meetings with elderly beneficiaries of the “Day Care Center of Hrazdan”
of the “Mission Armenia” NGO. The main issues raised by the beneficiaries
related to the provision of social assistance and challenges associated with
pension or old-age benefit payments.
