On 19 March, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, received Mr. Davit Davtyan, who had been deprived of liberty in Azerbaijan since November 2020 and returned to Armenia in January 2026.
Welcoming the guest, Ms. Anahit Manasyan noted that issues related to his rights had been under her direct attention from the very beginning and had been consistently raised with both international and national competent authorities.
Mr. Davit Davtyan expressed his gratitude to the Human Rights Defender for keeping his problems under continuous attention throughout this entire period and for the efforts undertaken in this regard.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the right to health care as well as socio-economic and other rights, were raised.
Ms. Anahit Manasyan emphasized that these issues will also become the subject of study by the Human Rights Defender’s Office, will be addressed in accordance with respective mandates and consistent follow-up will be ensured with a view to identifying appropriate solutions.
