The
Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan spoke on
the “News” (Lurer) program, referring issues related to the protection of the
rights of persons deprived of their liberty.
The
Defender presented the results of the visits conducted to penitentiary
institutions, referred the existing problems and challenges, and also spoke
about the cases of death.
It should be noted
that the interview took place about a month ago, as a result of which some of
the data presented by the Defender — including those related to deaths — have
since been updated.
