equality and preventing discrimination”.
On
the occasion of International Human Rights Day an important panel discussion on
“State institutions, professional communities and media cooperation in
promoting equality and preventing discrimination” was held within the framework
of the high-level international conference entitled “Ethical Standards in
Ensuring Equality and Preventing Discrimination”.
The
discussion was attended by:
Ms.
Anahit Manasyan, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia,
Ms.
Srbuhi Galyan, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia,
Mr.
Tigran Hakobyan, the Chairman of the Television and Radio Commission,
Mr.
Sasa Jankovic, the former National Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia and
human rights expert,
Ms.
Liana Yeghiazaryan, the Head of the News Program of the Public Radio of
Armenia,
Ms.
Anush Aslanyan, the President of “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities” NGO.
The
discussions brought together participants’ perspectives on the joint efforts of
state institutions, the media, and NGOs to prevent discrimination, promote
equality, and raise public awareness.
The
panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Arevik Anapiosyan, Advisor to the UN
Resident Coordinator in Armenia.
