The
Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, was a
guest at the studio of Public Radio’s “Without Footnotes” program.
During
the program, in a conversation with Mr. Levon Sardaryan, the Defender addressed
a number of key issues related to the protection of human rights.
In
particular, the discussion covered:
•
guaranteeing the religious rights of persons deprived of their liberty and the
specificities in that context
• the
state’s obligations in ensuring the right to health, including access to
medical care and services,
• various
manifestations of violence, including bullying,
• the
observance of ethical standards in the legal field,
• cooperation
with the media on human rights–related issues,
• cases
of targeting journalists and actors engaged in human rights protection,
• the
need for reforms in the education system.
